In Pop magazines, photos of males and females are very stereotyped. Females are show as very feminine and attractive whereas men are shown to be masculine.
The kinds of shots taken are mid-shots either at a slight rotation showing the side of a person or just a head on photo.
The mise-en scene is typically just the background of the magazine as the artist is normally on a green screen so that they can be cropped out and placed wherever on the magazine.
That person/people in the magazines normally have a blank face or some slight facial expression but nothing that looks out of the ordinary or abstract. But this depends on the kind of photo that is on the magazine.
